Edmond Dantes, the mate of captain of "Pharaoh" ship, on the way to Marseilles, found himself on the Elba Island. Deported emperor Napoleon asked him to take a message to France. Some envious persons wrote an anonymous letter to the royal prosecutor. Edmond’s wedding ceremony was roughly broken off by royal guards.
